Before becoming an approved foster carer with the London Borough of Redbridge, you’ll need to complete the following courses. These provide a strong foundation for keeping children safe and supporting them with confidence. The first five are also mandatory for all carers (and to be repeated).

- Health and safety in the fostering home
- Keeping data safe (about GDPR)
- Foster carer records
- Being a fostering family (two versions available, depending on your birth children’s age)
- Positive parenting
- Therapeutic parenting with PACE
- Helping children cope with trauma
- Caring for the whole child
- Staring your journey as a foster carer
